#127 ALWAYS take responsibility for yourself when crossing the road

It seems like an obvious one, but I often don’t even realise how often I rely on somebody else’s eyes to get me across the road safely, especially when I’m busy chattering away.

It doesn’t matter if the other person is older, smarter, more persuasive or seemingly more aware than you – when it comes to crossing the road you ALWAYS take responsibility for yourself.  If there are two of you, both look.  If there are ten of you, still, everybody look.

Roads are dangerous. Everyone needs to take responsibility for themselves on this one.  Don’t take silly risks, or waiver responsibility because you think someone else has you covered, always assume that they might not.
